Munshiganj Police nabbed 12 robbers through remarkable tactics in 3 recent robbery incident in the district. In this regard, a press conference was held in the conference room of Munshiganj district police super office at 4 pm on Thursday. At the press conference, it was stated that on 08-09-2022 at approximately 07.10 in the evening, Prabir Pal, the owner of Trisha Jewelers in Chardumuria Bazar of Munshiganj Sadar Police Station, was returning home at the end of the day when 5 unidentified people identified themselves as police and stopped Prabir Pal on the Vitihogla Steel Bridge. Later, the robbers handcuffed him and tried to force him off his motorcycle. When Prabirpal resisted, 5 unidentified persons hit Prabir Pal with the helmet of his used motorcycle and looted the motorcycle along with cash
After the incident, under the direction of Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman Al-Mamun, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Adibul Islam and Additional Superintendent of Police (Munshiganj Circle) Md. Minhaj-ul-Islam, multiple teams of DB Police and Munshiganj Police Station started investigating the incident. With the help of special information technology, Md Khalilur Rahman involved in the incident was identified and arrested from Dhaka. The arrested accused Md. Khalilur Rahman admitted to be directly involved in the incident and revealed the names of others involved, the other accused Mohammad Ali was arrested from Munshiganj in a joint operation of District Intelligence Branch and Munshiganj Police Station.
When the arrested Mohammad Ali also admitted to be directly involved in the incident, the other accused Shamim Bepari involved in the incident was arrested from the signboard of Narayganj with the help of special information technology and the other accused Md Anwar Hossain was arrested from Mugda in Dhaka. Besides, based on the information of the arrested accused, the looted personal motorcycle of the plaintiff Prabir Pal and approximately 05 gold ornaments were recovered from Azimpur New Market of Dhaka and Faridpur. Besides, Sabiranjan Nishi and Mithun Karmakar, involved in the purchase of stolen gold, were arrested. There are 2 cases against the arrested accused Md Khalilur Rahman in different police stations, 5 cases against Mohammad Ali, 1 case against Shamim Bepari and 2 cases against Md Anwar Hossain.
On last 29-06-2022 Palash Baroi, the owner of Ma Alankar Jewelers located on Rampal Union Parishad Road, on his way home after a busy day, 2/3 unidentified persons identified by the police in Milkipara area forcibly handcuffed him with approximately 10 loads of gold and 3,00,000 in cash. /- Lakhs of rupees forcibly taken away. Later Palash Barai filed a complaint at Munshiganj police station and a regular case was registered in view of his complaint. DB Police is conducting the investigation of the case and already Md Khalilur Rahman, Mohammad Ali and Md Anwar Hossain who were arrested in the above mentioned case dated 09-09-2022 admitted their involvement in the incident. When the name of another accused Zubair Alam alias Mohsin Molla was revealed, he was arrested from Sirajdikhan police station area with the help of special information technology. Approximately 4 bags of gold ornaments looted during the robbery were recovered from New Market, Azimpur, Dhaka. Besides, Niranjan Halder, involved in the purchase of stolen gold, was arrested. There are 9 cases against the arrested accused Zubair Alam alias Mohsin Mollah.
Besides, on 12-09-2022 AD, unknown 7/8 robbers stopped the movement of Md. Alamgir Hossain on service road next to Dhaka Mawa Expressway near Keyatkhali under Srinagar police station and looted mobile phone and cash estimated at Rs.1,900/- from him. by doing Besides, the drivers and passengers of other vehicles present at the scene were also taken hostage and robbery started. When the passengers started shouting at the presence of the robbers, the night patrol police of Srinagar police station arrived at the spot.
The patrolling police found a man lying unconscious on the side of the road while searching for the escape route of the unidentified gang members and took him to the hospital.
After identifying the name of the unknown person through finger print, it is seen that he is Ah Malek alias Ah Ali against whom Dakshin Keraniganj, Dhaka; Sherbangla Nagar, DMP; There are 4 robbery cases in Sreepur, Gazipur and Galachipa police stations, Patuakhali. Initially, it was identified that the deceased was a member of a dacoit group.
The investigating officer of the case, Police Inspector Pushpen Debnath, based on information technology and confidential information, recovered money from Srinagar police station's infamous dacoit Kalam Bepari aka Kasai Kalam from Rasulpur under Keraniganj police station, along with chapati, mobile and looted mobile. Later, based on the information of the accused, Md. Rafiq and Md. Rakibul Islam Babu were arrested from Keraniganj police station area.
