Police arrested 11 Jamaat leaders and activists including the Ameer of upazila Jamaat from Maidandighi Bazaar of Khan Marich union under Bhangura police station of Pabna on Saturday night. Police claims, those Jamaat men were arrested against a sedition charge.
Muhammad Anowar Hossain, Officer-in-charge of Bhangura Police station informed, acting on a tip of that 11 Jamaat leaders and activists including Upazila Jamaat Ameer and Assistant Professor of Saratnagar Senior Fazil Madrasha Maulana Ali Asgar, Jamaat General Secretary and Assitant Teacher of Dilpashar High School were planning for sabotage by being united at Maidanbighi Bazaar, police rushed to the spot and arrested them.
A case has been filed with Bhangura police station in this connection and the arrested persons have been sent to jail through the court on Sunday.
