Chuadanga Sadar Hospital runs according to 50 beds’ staff pattern, and medical support, food supply for 100 beds patients. But a building has been constructed for 250 beds in the hospital. The facilities of 250 beds have not been provided in the hospital up to date, sources said.
Chuadanga Sadar Hospital newly constructed building was made in 2018 at a cost of about Tk 30 crore for 250 beds of the hospital. But now a days the hospital is running with 100 beds for patients and manpower has been provided at ratio of 50 beds.
It is learnt, about 250 patients are in the hospital for residential treatment while over 1200 patients are treated outdoor regularly. Knowledgeable persons of the areas urged upon the government to upgrade the hospital in 250 beds.
It may be mentioned here, the 6-storey building was inaugurated by former health minister Mohammad Nasim on October 28, 2018. The cost of the building was tk. about 30,00,00,000.
On the other hand, the hospital was upgraded from 50 beds to 100 bed in 2003. The patients of the hospital have been getting facilities according to 100 beds. But 250 patients are treated as residential in the hospital.
Of the total, over 150 patients take treatment lying on floor.
Meanwhile manpower is provided in accordance of 50 beds. The sanctioned posts are 21 physicians, 76 nurses and 7 cleaners. The physician posts are 6 senior consultants, 6 junior consultants, 5 medical officers, 1 residential medical officer and 1 superintendent.
2 senior consultant, out of 6 senior consultant, 3 junior consultant, out of 6 junior consultant, 3 medical officers, out of 5 medical officers, 1 pathologist, 1 dental surgeon, 1 residential medical officer and 1
superintendent have been working with sincere.
The posts of 4 senior consultants, 3 junior consultants, 2 medical officers, 4 cleaners have been lying vacant in the hospital.
Dr. ASM Fateh Akram, Residential Medical Officer, said, we cannot provide the desired services to the patients due to shortage of physicians, hope that the problem will solve very soon.
Solaiman Hoque Joarder Selun, MP of Chuadanga-1 constituency said we are trying to upgrade the hospital into 250 beds.
