Ten meritorious and financially challenged students of Dhaka University (DU) Jagannath Hall have been awarded ‘Jagannath Hall Trust Fund Scholarship’ for their outstanding academic performances. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed scholarships among the students as chief guest at a function held on Sunday at the VC’s Lounge of the university.
DU Treasurer Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed presided over the function while Provost of Jagannath Hall Prof. Dr. Mihir Lal Saha, Senate and Syndicate Member SM Bahalul Majnun and Senate Member Md. Iqbal Mahmud were, among others, present on this occasion.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman congratulated the recipients of the scholarship and urged them to equip themselves with moral and humanitarian values as well as work for the betterment of the society. He said, financially challenged students of DU have been brought under the social safety network. He called upon the students to make themselves as smart citizen and contribute to the welfare of the human being.
The recipients of scholarship are- Bikom Chandra Singh, Dhrubo Dutta Antor, Sonjit Roy, Samson Bom, Niloy Mitra, Mong Sing Ching Marma, Joy Golder, Joyonto Dalu, Aksoi Kumar Hazong and Pritom Mandal.
