Bangladesh registered ten more death from Covid-19 and daily infections rose to 8,407 in 24 hours till 8am Tuesday.
The total number of deaths reached to 28,164 with addition of the latest figure.
The current positivity rate jumped to 23.98 pc. The overall positivity rate stands at 13.69 percent.
The new cases takes the total number of people infected to 1,632,794 according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.75 percent in the country. Around 35,916 samples were tested across the country till 8am Tuesday.
Among the ten diseased, eight were men and two were women. Of them, seven were from Dhaka, one from Chattogram, one from Khulna and one from Mymensingh.
Some 475 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,553,795 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 95.16 percent.
As of Tuesday, 5,565,748 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 331,836,020 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
