The death toll at the Corona unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital stands 10-during the last 24-hour period (ending 8-00 am on Monday), four less than that of the previous day.
The total death toll with the latest deaths stands 297 at RMCH during the current month. From June-19 to June-26, the daily death toll at the Corona unit of the hospital was 12 to 18. On Monday the death toll was the lowest.
Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani, Director of RMCH informed, out of 10 dead, four are of Rajshahi, three of Natore and three of Chapainawabganj while a total of 55 new patients have been admitted to the Corona unit of the hospital during the last 24-hour period.
RMCH sources informed a total of 434 admitted patients were taking treatment at the Corona unit of the hospital as against 357 dedicated beds.
On the other hand, the district administration imposed another weeklong complete lockdown in Rajshahi metropolis on Wednesday afternoon for the third consecutive time due to the decline of the Covid-19 cases in spite of the last two week’s lockdown.
The lockdown in the city scheduled to end on Thursday midnight has been extended for another week until June 30 suspending all connectivity to the city from different upazilas and nearby districts.
