Jafar Alam, MP from Cox's Bazar-1 constituency and President of Chakaria Awami League, donated 10,000 face masks to celebrate Durga Puja following hygiene rules in 46 Puja Mandop in Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar on Friday.
In a view-exchange meeting between Chakaria Upazila adminis tration and Upazila Puja Celebration Council last month on the occasion of Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of Hindu community, MP Zafar Alam announced that he would donate 10,000 masks from his personal funds to observe Durga Puja hygienically.
Alamgir Chowdhury, mayor of the municipality and joint secretary of Upazila Awami League, Tapan Kanti Das, president of Chakaria Upazila Puja Celebration Council, Babla Debnath, general secretary and others were present on the occasion.
