As part of celebrating Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary, 1,470 displaced families in Faridpur are scheduled to receive housing within January 2021.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is providing these houses for the helpless families under ‘Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Asrayan-2 Project’.
Project Director of ‘Asrayan-2’ project Additional Secretary Md. Mahbub Hossain inspected the development of the under construction houses in different upazilas of Faridpur district on Saturday morning.
Deputy Commissioner of Faridpur Atul Sarkar and Madhukhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mostafa Monwar accompanied him at the time. Deputy Commissioner Atul Sarkar said on the occasion of Mujib Barsho, 1,470 displaced families in nine upazilas of Faridpur are being given semi-concrete houses under Asrayan-2 project.
These houses along with the land will be handed over to the beneficiaries within January 2021. The number of beneficiaries may increase further, said the concerned authorities.
The total cost of constructing these houses is about Tk 25 crore 72 lakh 50 thousand. Tk 1.75 lakh has been allocated for building each house that is 20 feet long and 22 feet wide with 2 rooms, a kitchen, a toilet and an open front porch.
