1,38,157 students to appear in HSC exams in Rajshahi

A total of 1,38,157 students, including 65,911 females, are going to appear in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Rajshahi.

Of them, 41,061 students, including 20,145 females, are taking part in the public examinations and from the Science group, while 84,303, including 41,717 females, from humanities and 12,686, including 4,002 females, from business studies.

They will appear in the public examinations from 741 institutions in 203 centres in all eight districts under Rajshahi board scheduled to be held from June 30 this year like other education boards in the country.

Professor Ariful Islam, Controller of Examinations of the board, said they have taken all sorts of necessary preparations for holding the examinations successfully.

Vigilance teams were formed side by side with the respective district and upazila administrations for peaceful examinations.

Professor Islam said 1,51,353 students, including 74,990 female, had registered but 1,15,485 of them, including 57,512 female, applied for taking part in the examination meaning that 35,868 students, including 17,478 female, remained dropout under the board this year.

Meanwhile, BISE, Rajshahi authority has held a view-sharing meeting with centre-secretaries at Jail Training Academy auditorium here recently for holding the public examinations peacefully and successfully.

Commissioner of Rajshahi division Dr Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir addressed the meeting as chief guest with Board Chairman Professor Oliul Alam in the chair.

Board Secretary Humayun Kabir, Controller of Examinations Professor Ariful Islam, College Inspector Professor Enamul Haque and School Inspector Ziaul Haque also spoke.

Commissioner Dr Humayun Kabir urged the centre-secretaries to perform their respective duties with utmost sincerity and honesty for making the examinations a total success.

He warned that disciplinary action will be taken against those who will be found engaged either in any irregularity or negligence.
