1, 35000 children to be fed A Plus capsule in Chuadanga

National Vitamin A plus campaign will be held in four upazilas of Chuadanga district on January 11.  A total of 1 lakh 35 thousand and 29 children aged 6 months to 5 years will be fed vitamin A plus capsules in the district.  This was informed at an orientation workshop on National Vitamin A Plus campaign-2020 for the local journalists held at Civil Surgeon’s Office on Thursday. The workshop was presided over by Civil Surgeon Dr. Waliur Rahman. 

Rajib Hasan Kochi, General Secretary of Chuadanga press club, Sardar Al Amin, President of Chuadanga press club, Dr. Awlior Rahman, MODC of Civil Surgeon Office attended the event. Civil Surgeon Dr. Waliur Rahman described the importance of taking vitamin A plus capsule by the children to prevent various diseases. 

He also said vitamin A plus capsule has no side effect urged the parents to contact health officials if their children show vomiting tendency after taking the capsule.  He added that the children's immunity increase after taking vitamin A plus capsules.

986 centers will be set up at different points in the upazilas of the district for this campaign. Besides temporary centers will be set at bus stops, rail way stations and other places.  A total of 2158 staffs of Health Department and Family Planning Department along with volunteers will be working to make this campaign successful.

15 thousand 8 hundred and 32 children aged 6 months to 11 months will be fed  blue capsules while 1 lakh 19 thousand 1 hundred and 97 children aged 12 months to 59 months will be fed red capsules. Civil Surgeon in charge Waliur Rahman urged all to help the health department to complete the campaign successfully.
