World Teachers' Day event organized by the Ministry of Education in Dhaka — During World Teachers' Day event organized by the Ministry of Education in Dhaka on Saturday, Education Advisor Wahiduddin Mahmud criticized the current state of student politics, describing it as extreme depoliticization, misogyny, and occupation politics. He highlighted the glorious tradition of student movements in Bangladesh but emphasized that universities should focus on providing world-class education. Education Advisor cknowledged challenges in reforming textbooks and called for a national education policy. He also addressed the low salaries of teachers, stating it hampers teaching quality. Special guests included Professor Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar, Advisor to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Dr. Susan Vize, Head of the UNESCO Dhaka Office, and SMA. Faiz, Chairman of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission, all of whom praised primary teachers' vital role in shaping individuals and called for an end to disparities in education.
